Virginia Autunno

Our Dear mother Virginia Autunno, wife of Mario, sadly passed away on August 11, 2024, at the age of 88. Virginia was born in Italy and came to America at the age of 15. She survived World War II and came to America to begin her new life. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. My mother enjoyed spending time in the Kitchen preparing Sunday Dinners and being with her entire family. She will be forever missed and never forgotten, She a remarkable woman, whose strength, grace, love and whose laughter brighten even the darkest days. Our mom will remain an everlasting source of inspiration.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna “Maria” (Umberto “Bob”) Paterra, her Son Alfredo Mario (Kim) and her late son Alfredo Autunno. She was the grandmother to her 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to her and every one of them felt it. She made each one feel like they were her favorite. They were the best thing that ever happen to her. They were the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister Maria (Isidoro Toppi) and she loved each and everyone of her nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her loving, Father Alfredo Ricci, her Mother Elizabeth (Abele) Palombo, and her brother Vincenzo (Antonietta) Ricci.

A visitation will take place Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 4-8 pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Rd., Livonia, Michigan 48154. Funeral mass Monday, August 19, 2024 with an instate at 10:30am until the time of mass at 11:00am at St. Edith Church, 15089 Newburgh Rd., Livonia, MI 48154.
