Life Story / Obituary
Susan Makowski of Livonia passed away December 15, 2024 at the age of 70. She was born on August 1, 1954 in a car in Detroit, Michigan to Edwin and Helen Pociask.
Loving wife of Ellery for 47 years. Cherished mother of Jessica (Michael). Beloved grandma of Ella, and Jackson. Dedicated step-grandma of Kaylee, Kendall, and Brady. Cherished sister of Paula Pociask, Joyce Pociask, and Patty (Jim) Wolak. Susan is proceeded in death by her brothers Ernest and Larry (Linda) Pociask.
Susan was a nurturing homemaker known for her boundless love and care for her family and friends. She possessed a remarkable gift for cooking, especially her renowned homemade chicken noodle soup for anyone who was sick; crafted with love and accompanied by her signature homemade noodles. Family gatherings were often filled with the aromas of her delicious Polish meals, where there was always more food than could be eaten. Susan was also celebrated for her delightful birthday cakes and cupcakes, and cookies which brought joy to countless celebrations.
A devoted grandmother, Susan treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether providing rides, watching their sporting events, or simply offering companionship. Her selflessness and dedication to her family will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Especially by all of the children that Susan helped to raise.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 3:00 – 8:00 pm (Rosary at 7:00 pm) at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48154.
