Steve Hyssen

Steve (Sefe) Hyssen passed away November 29, 2025.

He lived a full and happy life, surrounded by loved ones.

Steve was full of laughter and stories, always ready with a joke and a smile. He made everyone feel welcome and part of the family. There was never a moment that he didn’t make better, and never a person who didn’t enjoy spending time with him.

Steve was born September 4, 1939, to Nazar and Ava Sheme in Nakolec. He married Bedrie in 1967, and they had 58 wonderful years together.

Steve will be missed by all, including his children, Suzan, Zinet, and Dino; his son-in-law Edward; his granddaughter Grace; his sister Lido and brother Engel; and his many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Steve was predeceased by his brothers Shemo and Metke.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 3pm – 7pm Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48154. Instate, Wednesday, 10am until the time of service at 11am Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48154.

Interment will follow at Parkview Memorial Park.
