Shirley Ann Rangeloff, resident of Livonia, passed away peacefully on October 19, at the age of

85.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life for more than 52 years, Victor

John. She was the beloved mother of Dawn (Greg) of Livonia, MI and John (Sonia) of Northport,

FL. Shirley was also the dear sister of Lorraine of Shelby Twp., MI, proud grandmother of Mark,

Bethany and Brianna, and great grandmother of Casey and Luke. She was also preceded in

death by her brother Donald and parents Edward and Helen.

Shirley was born and raised in a near east side Detroit neighborhood. She attended St. Rita

School and later Pershing High School. She actually did marry the “boy next door” as her

husband Victor lived right across the street growing up. Shirley was a very successful women’s

clothing sales associate for more than 30 years beginning at Kerns in downtown Detroit and

then later in life with the Talbots in Grosse Pointe and Somerset in Troy. In her more than 15

years at Talbots, she was repeatedly one of the top ten sales associates in the entire country.

In 1997, Shirley was honored at Talbots’ national store managers’ awards dinner in Boston, MA

for her multiple years of being one of the company’s top sales associates. Outside of work,

Shirley loved being with her family, especially when grandchildren arrived. Although working

full time, she never seemed to miss a recital, play or game one of her grandkids were involved

in. Shirley was an avid bowler, loved music and dancing, and with her husband Victor, had a

large group of social friends both in Michigan and Florida. She also loved to decorate and host

family occasions.

In 2000, when she and Victor retired and her Michigan grandchildren were growing up, they

moved to Punta Gorda, FL to be with some of their family and close friends from Michigan who

lived in the same community. They were also closer to son John and granddaughter Brianna

who they were able to be with more as she grew up. Shirley remained in FL after losing Victor

in 2007 until 2017, when she moved back to Michigan to be closer to family members.

A memorial service for immediate family will be held at a later date.
