Age 87, passed away Feb. 4, peacefully with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan. Beloved father of Barbara (Ron) Phillips, James (Barbara), Beverly Long (Randy Hamrick), Joanne (Terry) Hoyt and David (Lisa). Devoted Grandfather of 15 and loving Great-Grandfather of 4. Sam was a retired teacher of 30 years in Livonia Schools & 25 years at Schoolcraft College. He was also a World War II Army Veteran.
VISITATION: Family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 2-9PM with a 7:30PM Rosary at our East/West Chapel, 30200 Five Mile Rd., Livonia (located between Merriman & Middlebelt).
FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, February 8 at St. Edith, Livonia (15089 Newburgh Road Livonia, MI 48154), In State 10:00AM until Mass at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army and Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
