Life Story / Obituary
Ronald “Ron” Edward Battani, a beloved son, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at the age of 70. He was born on March 18, 1955, in Romeo, Michigan, and had been a long-time resident of Livonia.
Ron dedicated his life to serving his community as a firefighter. His bravery and commitment to others were reflected not only in his profession but also in his everyday life. A true patriot, he wore his love for his country proudly.
Outside of his courageous vocation, Ron had a deep passion for life. He loved riding his Harley motorcycle, a hobby that gave him a sense of freedom and adventure. A devoted sports fan, he supported the Detroit Lions, the University of Michigan, and the Detroit Red Wings with unwavering loyalty.
Ron was also known for his incredible ability to fix virtually anything, showcasing his gift as a tinkerer. This skill earned him the admiration of friends and family alike, who often relied on him for help with a wide variety of projects.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, including his son Brandon Battani, his companion Judy Miracle, and the mother of his son, Susan Melvin. Ron is also survived by his dear cat, Rebel, who was a constant source of comfort and companionship.
A visitation for Ron will take place on Friday, March 6, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, located at 30200 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48154. Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Canton Firefighters Charity Foundation.
