Life Story / Obituary
Roberta Carol Mae Bateson Letsch passed away September 18, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born December 24, 1933 in Hibbing, Minnesota to Richard and Alice Bateson. Loving wife to the late Raymond Edward for 61 years. Cherished mother to Raeann Kusch, David E. Letsch, Daniel R. Letsch, Douglas N. (Theresa) Letsch, Duane J. Letsch, and Dennis A. Letsch. Adored grandmother of Amanda (Russell) Webb, Melissa (Mark) Collado, Jillian (Chris) Shively, Rick (Anna Maria) Hart, Tiffany (David) Herman, Remington Hart, Andrew (Danna) Letsch, Aaron Letsch, Sarah Letsch, Brandon Letsch, Jessica Garner, and the late Justin J. Letsch and Eric N. Letsch. Dearest sister of the lates Alan Bateson, Norman Bateson, Robert Bateson, Alice Loraine Lane and Ethel Rhine.
Roberta loved Jesus and loved her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She and her husband served as missionaries in Haiti caring for infants in an orphanage. She loved people and was an encourager. Roberta loved Jesus and her greatest wish was that others know him. Her favorite Bible verse was 1 John 4:19. “We love because He first loved us.”
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 10:30 am (Calling at 9:30 am) at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green Street, New Haven, IN 46774. There will also be another memorial service that will take place Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Old Scenic Community Church, 25747 Co Rd. 340, Bigfork, Minnesota 56628.
