Richard, age 80, passed away on September 24, 2021. He is survived by his wife, and high school sweetheart of 59 years, Marcy, his children Debra (Michael) Bell and Daniel (Heather) Plinka; grandchildren Nicholas (Lauren) Plinka, Marinna (Matthew) Harris, Shelby (Kirk) Plinka, and great grandson Karter Wilson. Richard was an avid outdoorsman and passed his love of nature onto his children, grandchildren, and great grandson. He was a devoted family man. Always available to help with advice, handyman duties, rides to practice, games, or lessons. And never failed to mention how much his family meant to him. He was a constant source of support and companionship for his father, and in-laws throughout the years. One of his greatest assets, and a constant source of family amusement was his reluctance to throw away anything he deemed “useful.” His collection of all things “useful,” meticulously catalogued, labeled, and stored saved his children and grandchildren untold trips to the hardware store. Richard retired from Ford Motor Company in 2001 after 38 years of service. He spent most of that time proudly serving as a representative of UAW Local 182. Richard will be dearly missed.
