Phyllis E. Giertych

Phyllis E. Giertych of Livonia passed away September 25, 2022 at the age of 86. She was born July 1, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Henry and Helen Lewandowski. Beloved wife of the late Leonard. Loving mother of Donna (Dan) Drotar, Janet (Robert) Eberline, Steve Giertych, Theresa (Geff) Sanford, Mary (Paul) VanHartesveldt, Patricia Gerwolls, and Matthew Giertych. Dear grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of 10. Cherished sister of Lucille (the late Bernard) Borowski, dearest Donna (Mike) Longuski. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many loving life-long friends and neighbors. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents and her brothers Edwin (Virginia) Lewandowski and Leonard (Irene) Lewandowski. Visitation Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 2-7 pm with a Rosary at 6 pm at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Rd., Livonia, Michigan 48154. Instate Monday, October 3, 2022 from 10:30 am until time of Mass at 11 am at St. Genevieve-St. Maurice Catholic Parish, 29015 Jamison St, Livonia, MI 48154. Interment at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Leader Dogs for the Blind or the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
