Keith Updike

Keith G. Updike of Canton died February 17, 2021. He was born June 5, 1962 in Wyandotte, Michigan to James and Eileen Updike. Keith’s warm demeanor and infectious humor stood out in any crowd whether among his professional colleagues or with the friends & family that loved him so dearly. Beloved husband of Karen for 34 years; loving father of Gregory (fiancé Stephanie Hogge) Updike and Jamie (Robert) Boyd. Dearest grandfather of Levi Boyd; dear son of James Updike; loving brother of Laurie (Daniel) Floetke, Kevin (Alma Bates) Updike, and Kenneth (Ann) Updike. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins. Selflessly hardworking and fiercely loyal, Keith played a special, irreplaceable role in the lives of those who were close to him. Visitation Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 3-6 pm at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 45100 Warren Rd., Canton, Michigan. Instate Monday, February 22, 2021 from 10:30 am until time of Mass at 11 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Parish, 44800 Warren Rd., Canton, Michigan. Keith always volunteered for the ‘morning shift’ with his grandson, Levi, both for some one-on-one time with his special pal and to give Jamie & Rob a bit more sleep. Therefore, memorial contributions may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit which similarly provides a place to sleep for parents in need.
