Josephine Esper of Livonia (80 years) & White Lake (4 years) passed away December 13, 2024 at the age of 86. She was born February 8, 1938 in Highland Park, Michigan to Salvatore and Carmella Bonfante. Josephine retired from Farmington Public Schools after many years of dedicated service as a Special Education Paraprofessional / Secretary and truly loved working with children. She was also a master gardener and an amazing cook. Josephine and her husband, Barney enjoyed camping with family & friends of the Highway Satellites for over 30 years. Josephine was an extremely competitive lady when playing games especially her favorite game, Rummikub. She almost always won. When she was younger, she took pleasure in Girl Scouting and later became a Girl Scout leader for her 2 older daughters troop as well as being involved in school activities with all four of her children. Josephine also loved heading to the casino from time to time. Above all else, she truly loved her family, and the times spent with them were always the best.

Beloved wife of the late Arthur. Loving mother of Deborah (Timothy) Hansen, Michael (Cindy) Esper, Kathy Fredrick, and Connie (Vince) Fedel. Dearest grandmother of Bethany (Dane) Meyers, Ryan (Lindsay) Esper, Justin (Kaitlin) Esper, Allen (Jae) Fredrick, Mackenzie Fredrick, Kayla (Paul) Gave, Jake (Alyson) Fedel, and Andrew Fedel. Dear G.G. of Isla, Zeke, Logan, Jack, Camden, Sawyer, and Eleanor. She was very excited to hear recently that she was expecting her 8th great-grandchild in May. Dear sister of Marion (Joe) Lapointe and her late brother, Joe Bonfante. Very dear companion of Joe Hinson for many years. She was also honored to be a godmother and aunt to numerous nieces & nephews.

Visitation Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 3-8 pm with a scripture service at 7 pm at Neely Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Rd., Livonia, Michigan 48154. Instate Friday, December 20, 2024 from 9:30 am until time of funeral Mass at 10 am at St Priscilla Catholic Church, 19120 Purlingbrook St, Livonia, MI 48152. Interment will take place in the chapel at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, Michigan.
