Joseph Pelukas passed away March 1, 2022 at the age of 80. He was born February 27, 1942 in Hamtramck, Michigan to the late Walter and Anne Pelukas. Beloved husband of the late Patricia; Loving father of Joseph (Amanda) and Jonathan (Sara); dearest grandfather of Matthew, Hillary, Audrey, Natalie, and Alexander; dear brother of Walter, John, and Gloria (Terry) Fouchey.

Joe proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Following an Honorable Discharge from the Marines, he married the love of his life Patricia. Pat and Joe shared many life adventures through nearly 50 years of marriage and were at their happiest when spending their time together. An appropriate motto for Joe would be: “Family comes first, work hard and play golf harder. Enjoy your Budweiser and Johnnie Walker along the way.” As an avid “do-it-yourself" kind of person, there never was a project too big or small to take on.

Joe was the unquestionable “rock” of the family. Always willing to lend a hand or provide support when needed. As a man of few words (except when it came to recalling golfing exploits) when Joe provided his opinion on a matter, people would listen. Joe is also survived by many friends. Some from childhood, from his college years, from work and from his long-time neighbors. Even though his wife Pat did most of the talking, Joe was always happy to be a part of such a great group of friends.

A memorial mass will take place Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11AM (Instate 10:30AM) at St. John Neumann Catholic Parish, 44800 Warren Rd, Canton, MI 48187. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Neely-Turowski Funeral Home of Canton, Michigan.

A luncheon will take place at Rose’s Restaurant in Canton immediately following the memorial service, at 201 N Canton Center Rd, Canton, MI 48187.
