Life Story / Obituary
James is survived by his son, John Norman Wells. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jill Wells. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank Wells of Mingo Junction, Ohio, John Wells Jr. and Bianca Wells of Mingo Junction, Ohio, and William (Patty) Wells of Wintersville, Ohio; his sisters, Patti (Dave) Toth of Toronto, Ohio, and Louise (Harold) Bittinger of Toronto, Ohio; Georganne McGraw of Canton, Ohio; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
James was a proud member of UAW Local 5960 in Michigan. He was previously employed at the steel plant in Toledo and was a current General Motors employee. Raised in the faith, he was a childhood member of the Church at Rush Run Community Chapel in Rush Run, Ohio, and later attended Crosswalk Community Church in Canton, Michigan.
James was a shelter when the world was cold and a guiding light for family and friends who lost their way. Looked up to by so many, he was a true inspiration with a gift for making people feel seen and valued simply by giving them his full attention. He showed his deep care for others through real action—whether that meant showing up with a meal, helping fix a car, or simply being there when it mattered most. Quick-witted with an amazing sense of humor, sharing a laugh or an insightful observation with James was always a treat.
Though he has left this world, James will remain forever in our hearts.

“Psalms 30:5 “Weeping may last through the night but joy comes in the morning” This reminds you that sorrow is temporary and light will return.
