Life Story / Obituary

Irene Edrena Rodgers “Rennie” was born on May 10, 1991 at Sinai Grace Hospital to Delores and James Rodgers, later raised by Delores and John (Buck) Roebuck Jr.

She received her education through the Detroit Public School System where she graduated from Redford Thurston High School. As a child Rennie always loved to watch her big sister Dee-Dee do the entire neighborhood’s hair! It was at that moment, she wanted to do the same!

Soon after high school, Rennie enrolled at Aveda School of cosmetology in Ann Arbor, MI. During her time in school Irene quickly gained acclaim as a master cut, color and curling expert. Rennie moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. after accepting an internship at the W Hotel under the celebrity stylist Ted Gibson. One year after being under his close tutelage, she decided it was time to fulfill her lifelong dream and birthed the IRodgers Hair Co.

Over the next several years she gave her baby EVERYTHING she had, and she loved every second of it!

Rennie had a beautiful caring spirit and was always helping others. She always gave back to the community. Every year she sponsored one high school graduate at prom, with a raffle for the student with the best GPA. Irene dressed the winner from head to toe. Rennie was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and traveling. She had a wonderful fiancĂ©, Ray, and they spent much time traveling and building their future together. The love they shared was beautiful and he supported every dream she had. Rennie loved their dog “Baby boy.”

On June 9, 2018 Rennie was called home to be with her heavenly father. Irene leaves to cherish her memories: her parents Buck & Delores Roebuck, Father James Rodgers, fiancĂ© Ray St. Clair; Grandfathers: Howard Reynolds, Edward Rodgers; Grandmother: Mary Harper; Brothers: Clarence Burks, John Williams, James Rodgers (Fletchia) Jermaine Rodger and Marcus Roebuck, Sisters: Deanna Key (Joe), Lenice Jennings (George), Shondtell Perry (Greg), Kimberly Smith (Albert); A close aunt that was raised with her; Brandy Reynolds; thirteen nieces, ten nephews, two very special friends Martavious Vaughn “Tavo” and Maria Sanchez that she shared a special bond with! A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends that loved her dearly. Preceding her in death: Grandmothers: Irene Rodgers, Mildred Asbell, Helen Roebuck, Grandfather: John Roebuck Sr., Cousin: Tamika Waddy.

Psalm 46:10 “Be Still, and know that I am God.”
