Howard Donald Proctor, DO, of Dearborn, Michigan passed away on July 7th,

2021 at the age of 93 years. Howard “Howie” was a much beloved, caring husband,

father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was born to Harvey and Florence Proctor on

May 26th, 1928 in Romulus, Michigan. After graduating from Fordson High School (class

of 1946), Howie attended Michigan State University and majored in Zoology. He was a

member of the MSU Men’s Glee Club and ROTC. After graduating in 1950, he attended

Chicago College of Osteopathy. After graduation from medical school in 1954, he

completed his residency in Anesthesiology, during which, he met and married Janet

Twork. One of his greatest professional accomplishments was working at Bi-County

Community Hospital as the Head of the Department of Anesthesia and Associate

Professor through MSU. He will lovingly be remembered and survived by his wife of 63

years, Janet; his children, Julie Raedy and Brian (Linda) Proctor; his six grandchildren:

Megan (Andrés) Alvarado, Ashley (Trey) Wright, Cameron Raedy, Harrison Proctor,

time with his family, especially at his lake house on Otsego Lake in Gaylord, Michigan.

He was an avid skier, golfer, tennis player, puzzler, bridge player, reader, sailor, painter,

and lover of blueberries and peanut M&Ms. Per his lifelong wishes, a beach side
