Taken from his loved ones much too soon, Eric Bauman brought such happiness to all who were within his reach. He was sensitive and caring with just the right amount of goofiness mixed in. It was easy to see that Eric’s precious daughter was the center of his universe, and as a father he strived to give Aprale everything he could. Family was a cornerstone in his life throughout his entire journey as he was close with his parents and his sisters, too. Life will never be the same without Eric here, but the memories he leaves behind will remain lasting treasures that are forever held near and dear to the hearts and lives of his loved ones.

It seems only fitting that Eric’s story began during a time in American history that was as colorful as he was. Our nation’s youth fell in love with video games and the camcorder allowed us to chronicle the events in our lives. Amidst this exciting time there was much to celebrate in the lives of a young couple from Louisville, Kentucky, as they were pleased to welcome a healthy baby boy into their hearts and home on June 24, 1983. Eric Lee was one of four children and the only son, born to his parents, Rick and Kathleen Bauman. He was raised in the family home in Michigan alongside his three sisters, Sarah, Christina, and Angela.

In many ways Eric experienced a fun-filled childhood that was reflective of his generation. He was a happy and energetic young boy who loved riding his bike and throwing rocks. Determined to play ice hockey, Eric taught himself to ice skate over a summer. He was very athletic and played both soccer and ice hockey all through his years in school. Additionally, Eric was a hard worker who saved his money to buy his first car, which was something that he was very proud of having accomplished. He was a student at local schools and went on to graduate from high school.

New and exciting changes were in store for Eric when he became a father to the little girl who was the light of his life. He was an incredible father to Aprale, and she meant the world to him. They made great memories together doing a wide variety of things. Eric’s dog, Little Lady, was his beloved companion, and he loved taking his daughter along for walks with Little Lady. Both Aprale and his dog were the most important things to Eric. He was also very close to his three sisters.

In everything he did, Eric lived life to the fullest. He loved going to Florida as the beach was one of his favorite places to be. Eric loved traveling and had been to nearly every city in Michigan. He he loved putting on his Hawaiian shirt, making shish kabobs, and drinking piña coladas out of coconuts. As his friends and family can attest, Eric’s homemade egg rolls were simply fantastic. No matter where he was going, he always said, “I’ll be back, I’m going to the gym,” as he could be such a jokester at times. Eric loved decorating for the holidays, especially for the Christmas season every year.

With so much love to give those around him, Eric Bauman made a significant impact in the lives of others. He was outgoing and talkative, especially when he was talking about something he loved. There was no greater gift in Eric’s life than his beloved Aprale, and he looked forward to being with her whenever he could. A beloved son, brother, and father, he will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love him.

Eric L. Bauman died on December 15, 2013. Eric’s family includes his daughter, Aprale; parents, Kathleen Bauman and Ricky Bauman; sisters, Sarah, Christina, and Angela.
