Life Story / Obituary
Chyi Tsang Shu (83), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025 in Angela Hospice, Livonia, Michigan. Born on March 12, 1942 in Seoul, Korea, she was a longtime resident of Canton, Michigan.
Chyi was a devoted wife to the late Rei Chiu Shu, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Irene Shu (daughter) and Brian Shu (son) and Linda Shu (wife of Brian Shu), a proud grandmother to Hannah Shu (granddaughter), Christine Shu (granddaughter) and Ian Shu (grandson).
Chyi was passionate about cooking, gardening (especially loved her orchid collection), and spending time with neighbors, friends and acquaintances. She was preceded in death by Bin Ching Tsang (father), Chun Fen Chiang (mother), Yi Kuen Tsang (brother), Yi Ying Tsang (brother) and Chin Tsou Yu (sister). She is survived by Yi Ruey Tsang (brother) and Yi Woei Tsang (brother).
Visitation will be held at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 45100 Warren Rd., Canton, Michigan, 48187 on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 11 am-2 pm. Refreshments will be provided. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Health Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital (Ypsilanti, Michigan), Trinity Health Saint Mary Mercy Hospital (Livonia, Michigan), and Angela Hospice (Livonia, Michigan) in her memory and are appreciated.
