Albert Charles Michniak, beloved husband, father, mentor and friend, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. He was born October 21, 1937 to Charles and Edith Michniak in Taylor, Michigan
Albert graduated from high school in 1955, he entered the Navy that same year. He received his basic training and maintenance training on helicopters at Naval Air Station, Lakehurst, NJ. He was then shipped to Greenland to work on ice breakers in the Davis Strait, Baffin Bay. He finished the remainder of his time at USNAS Grosse Ile and was honorably discharged in 1959. Albert started his family in 1961 in Livonia, Michigan and worked for GM Fisher Body for 37 years.
He shared 49 wonderful years of marriage with his late wife, Carole, who was his steadfast partner through every joy and challenge.
Albert is survived by his children, Christopher (Tammy), Michael (Dawn) and Kenneth (Kim), grandchildren, Kevin, Emily, Michael, Zachary and great grandson, Jameson who will forever cherish his love, guidance, and the values he instilled in them. His wisdom, humor, and warmth touched all who knew him.
Albert found joy in gardening, home projects, fishing, hunting, bowling, horseshoes, playing cards, tinkering and watching the Red Wings, Detroit Tigers and old movies. Above all, his greatest pride was his family, whose lives were enriched by his presence and love.
Albert will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.
A private service to honor his life will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025.
