Life Story / Obituary
We are saddened to announce that our father Dr. Alan J. Drucker passed away on the morning of July 3. Alan was born in New York City in August of 1942 and grew up with his two brothers in the Bronx. He knew from a young age that he wanted to be a doctor and pursued his dream. He attended Hunter College (B.S.), S.U.N.Y. Buffalo (M.S.), Michigan State University (post-graduate studies), and the Wayne State University School of Medicine (M.D.). Alan met the love of his life Edna while studying at MSU and they married in December 1968. Alan loved his work and touched many lives in his nearly 40 years of practice in internal medicine in Taylor, Michigan. Alan enjoyed the water, swimming, and the sunny summer heat. He and Edna enjoyed traveling together, especially to New York City and the east coast. In retirement, he was a regular at the local (and not so local) ice rinks watching his grandchildren’s hockey games. Alan is survived by Edna and their two children Cristy (Rick) Matley and Seth (Jean) Drucker, his three grandchildren, Joel, Benjamin and Sabrina Drucker, and brother Bruce (Robin) Drucker. Alan was preceded in death by his mother Mary and brother Neil. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American National Red Cross.
