Dawn Marie Maples

Dawn Maples (formerly Piwowar) passed away on December 5, 2025, at the age of 33. She was born on August 28, 1992, in Garden City, Michigan, to Harold and Linda (Criss) Maples.

A loving daughter to Harold; devoted mother to Nathan; cherished sister to Jason, Shawn, Randy Elizabeth), and Darren (Karly); and dear ex-wife of Matthew Piwowar. She is preceded in death by her mother, Linda. Dawn will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Dawn grew up with four brothers, quickly learning how to fight, play rough, and hold her own—qualities that stayed with her throughout her life. She was a dedicated homemaker who poured her entire heart into raising her son. Nothing brought her greater pride than watching Nathan grow, learn, and pursue the activities he loved. She especially cherished watching him play hockey. She quickly became Nathan’s biggest supporter in the rink, always cheering with warmth, enthusiasm, and unmistakable pride. Her love, laughter, and courage will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Memorial gathering Thursday, December 18, 2025 10:30AM followed by a memorial service at 1PM at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48154.
