William “Bill” Joseph Trahey went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2020, at his home

surrounded by family, at the age of 94.

Bill was predeceased by Lillian Ann Trahey (nee Tocco), his loving wife of fifty years, and Karen

Ann Trahey, his beloved daughter. He is survived by his children William, Sandra and Timothy,

his grandchildren, Kellie and Kyle, and many treasured great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews

and cousins.

Bill was born June 30, 1926 in Fordson Michigan, to Edward and Elizabeth Trahey. He was the

youngest of nine children, with a very humble upbringing during the depression. Despite his

modest upbringing, he always shared fond memories of his parents, siblings and their beloved

family dog, Rags.

After serving his country his country in World War II, Bill returned home to Detroit, where he

met his wife Lil. The two raised five children together, creating a beautiful and comfortable life,

always putting their family first. He was an exceptional husband, father, and provider.

Bill was a proud, but humble man. His integrity, selflessness, warm smile and spirit will be

remembered in the hearts of many. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home 30200 Five

Mile Road Livonia, Michigan 48154, from 12:00 – 5:00 PM. A brief prayer service will be held at

4:00 PM.

Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at St. Genevieve-St. Maurice Catholic

Church 29015 Jamison St, Livonia, MI 48154 at 11:00 AM, with him lying in state at 10:30 AM.

Military honors will be performed on-site directly following the service. There will be a vehicle

procession to St. Hedwig Cemetery 23755 Military Rd, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127 for the

burial.

Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, a memorial luncheon will be held on a future date, at Bill’s

favorite restaurant, Archie’s 30471 Plymouth Rd, Livonia, MI 48150.

Donations in Bill’s memory can be made to Angela Hospice, who provided him with

compassionate and loving care during his final days or the Disabled American Veterans, who assist our service

members in their time of need.
