Thomas Philip Waligora

Thomas Philip Waligora of Livonia passed away January 17, 2024 at the age of 76. He was born November 23, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to Anthony and Virginia Waligora. Thomas worked at Detroit Edison and retired after 37 years of dedicated service. He was active in St Aidan's Parish, Livonia Parkinson's Support Group, and Rock Steady Boxing. He was a lifetime fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and U of M. He would love to be here watching the Lions head to the Super Bowl. Over the years, he was very involved in his sons activities, including scouting, hockey, and baseball, and he loved every minute of it. He also enjoyed traveling with Karen and above all his favorite trip was to Poland. Beloved husband of Karen for 51 years. Loving father of Scott (Anne) Waligora, Philip (Suzanne) Waligora, and David (Jen) Waligora. Dearest grandfather of Julia Waligora, Jenna Waligora, John Waligora, Joshua Waligora, Simon Waligora, and Patrick Waligora. Dear brother of Rick (Judy) Waligora, Jerry Waligora, Marge (Ken) Miron-Schultz, Lois (Gary) Johnson, Betti (the late Michael) Shawl, and Mary (Rodney) Bowen. Brother-in-law of Vickie Waligora, Geri Waligora, and Alex (Sherry) Szaro. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by his parents and his siblings Arlene (Richard) Kuslak, Jack Waligora, Frank Waligora, and Phyllis Ross. A memorial mass will take place Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 9:30 am (Instate at 9 am) at St. Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. Inurnment will take place at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation or St. Aidan Catholic Church.
