Therese M. Brogowski

Therese Marie Brogowski (Opalewski), age 94 of Livonia Michigan, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born on August 3, 1931.

Therese was a much beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. When not caring for her family she pursued her passions. She had a deep love for gardening and frequently kept her home full of many beautiful flowers and plants. When not helping flowers bloom, she could be found working away on a sewing project, either whiling away her hours in front of the sewing machine or working on her stitching by hand. Therese was also an avid reader and had a great passion for books of all genres.

Therese was deeply involved in her local church community at St. Maurice, St. Simon & St. Jude Catholic Church. She volunteered countless hours helping with anything from community luncheons to helping with flower arrangement for services. Religion was an important and impactful part of her life and she was dedicated to giving back where she could.

Therese was preceded by her husband Joseph R. Brogowski Jr., her daughter Camille A. Brogowski, and her daughter Kathleen R. Hanson.

Therese is survived by her children Michelle T. Kehoe (Patrick), Joseph R. Brogowski III (Susan), Celestine F. Kessler (Neil), Stephanie E. Condron, Claudette C. Varney (Rob) D), and Anthony G. Brogowski; Her grandchildren Angela, Jonathan, Shawn, Braeden, Andrea, Joseph IV, Michael, Sarah, Jessica, Adam, Garrett, Ryan, Ashley, and Tyler; and her great-grandchildren Thomas, Cassandra, Tessa, Daniel, Abigail, Luke, William, Kellen, Keegan, Sara Rose, James, James M., Isaiah, Mateo, Alexander, and Zachary.

A memorial gathering will take place Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 4 pm until time of rosary and memorial service at 6 pm at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Rd., Livonia, Michigan 48154.
