Shirley "Jean" Menzies

Shirley Jean Menzies "Jean" (nee Orr), died October 8, 2020 at the age of 94. She was born August 5, 1926 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada to Charles and Flossie Orr. She moved to Michigan in 1957. Loving wife of the late Alan Menzies for 65 years. Proud and wonderful mother of Alan (Cindy) and Doug (Leslie). Caring and devoted grandmother to Haley, Sara, Michelle, and Adam. She was preceded in death by her sister Marie (Bob) Shadgett, brothers Bob and Jim Orr of Peterborough. Jean loved spending the winter months in new Smyrna Beach, Florida. Jean enjoyed playing golf with her husband Al and friends, which she had many. She was a member of Western G&CC, Sugar Mill G&CC in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Kawartha G&CC in Peterborough, Ontario. A devoted homemaker, Jean loved all animals, especially her granddogs and great-granddogs. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society. Per Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held in the future.
