Richard R. Knapp (Dziadziu), 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 19th, 2025. Beloved husband of his late wife Rose. Cherished father of Patricia (Robert) Peplinski, Kathleen Knapp, Stephen (Patricia) Knapp and the late Richard A. Knapp and Mark Knapp. Dearest grandfather of Suzanne (Russ) Marschall, Christopher (Megen) Peplinski, Sarah (Quintin) Solano, and Matthew Knapp. Loving great-grandfather of Anna Marschall.
Richard and Rose were married for 65 years. Richard was a proud veteran stationed in Okinawa during the Korean War. He was a devout Catholic and loved celebrating his polish heritage. He was a big Detroit Tigers fan and almost never missed watching a game.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th at Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Rd., Livonia, MI from 2-8pm. Rosary will be held at 6pm.
The funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 25th, at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 31530 Beechwood Ave. in Garden City, MI. He will be instate starting at 9am until the start of mass. Processing to St. Hedwig Cemetery after mass for interment.
