Marilyn Potas

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marilyn Potas on November 21, 2022. Marilyn was born in Detroit on July 10, 1938 to Vera and William Mastal. She had three older siblings - Eugene, Joyce, and Don. Marilyn ventured out to the “country” (Livonia), where she raised family and spent the last 40 years married to the love of her life, Joseph, who passed away earlier this year. Marilyn was retired from the Motor City Health, Welfare and Pension Fund, Local #698.

Marilyn loved planting, with springtime paving the way for ‘the hunt’ - seeking out the latest and greatest varieties of flowers. The summers brought extended weekends at Goose Lake in Jackson, where Marilyn and Joe fostered the bonds of friends and family. Always one to lighten the room with her ease, Marilyn loved to have fun and relished a good laugh - believing in its therapeutic benefit to a good life.

Marilyn is survived by her children Bill, Karen (Robert), Ken (Pam), and Michelle (Tim), as well as four grandchildren - Sierra, Hailey, Joshua and Shane.

The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers, as there will be no funeral services, with a private memorial being held in the spring.
