Life Story / Obituary

Lee Barann peacefully entered God’s Kingdom early a.m. on May 12, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born on January 17, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan to John and Stella Jankowski (Janson).

Lee touched many lives through her love of teaching at Livonia St. Michael’s, teaching fourth grade Reading and Social Studies for over 25 years.

Lee enjoyed reading, sewing (especially cross-stitch), Polish cooking, watching musicals, and traveling. In recent years, she enjoyed watching old-time shows such as Little House on the Prairie and Leave It to Beaver because she loved the kids!

Lee and her husband Eddie, through their membership with the Knights of Columbus, were involved in many charitable efforts, impacting many lives. This was also true of her leadership role in church activities and groups.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Edward (Mr. Honey), and sister, Lilian Kasprowicz-McCormick. Survived by sister, Sandra Michon, and brother, John Janson (Pam). Loving mother of Carole Lee Mihalo (Jon Grewer) and Edward John Barann (Ann). Dearest Grandmother of Elizabeth (Daniel) Esqueda, Rebecca (Nate) Hinnant, Alexander (Brianna) Barann, and Jacob Barann. Devoted great-grandmother to Alexander and Anthony Esqueda. She was a loving “great” aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Mass will take place Saturday, June 13, 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Rd, W. Bloomfield.

As teaching was her passion, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Mercy Education Project.
