SCHLENKERT, KATHLEEN MARIE “Kathy”, age 78, of Redford, passed away on October 23, 2023. Kathy was born on January 4, 1945, in Lauriam, Michigan to parents David Roy and Katherine Palmer. Proud wife to the late Kenneth for over 30 years; Dear mother to Nicole Martin and Betty (Derek) Schlenkert; Cherished grandmother of Stephanie (Bryan) Edwards, Caitlyn Martin, the late Alyssa Schlenkert, Tori Schlenkert, Jenna (Tyler) Schlenkert, and Olivia Martin; Beloved great-grandmother of Kinsley Foley; Adored sister of the late Robert Palmer, David (Nancy) Palmer, and Ruth Palmer.

Kathy will be remembered as a motherly figure and a friend to everyone she met. She cherished every moment she could spend with her grandchildren, grand dogs, and grand cats. Kathy had a strong desire to travel, she loved to go up north to the Keweenaw Peninsula and Canada to visit her friend, Shirley. Kathy was a member of Shadow of the Cross Lutheran Church for many years where she helped in the church kitchen for countless events. In her spare time Kathy enjoyed watching hallmark movies and going out to dinner with her church friends.

The Schlenkert family will accept visitors on Friday, 2pm – 8:00pm at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home (30200 Five Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48154). Funeral Service will be on Saturday, instate at 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am, at Shadow of the Cross Lutheran Church (20805 Middlebelt Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48336). Memorial Donations can be made in Kathy’s name to American Cancer Society.
