Josephine “Josie” Frances D’Argis of Canton, Michigan, passed at the age of 86 on April 12, 2022, at Crystal Creek Assisted Living. She was born December 16, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, the Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (DeGuara) Zammit. Josie was a devoted wife to her loving husband, the late Harvey S. D’Argis; the beloved mother of Kenneth, Sandra (Bill) Jarvis, Joyce (Randy) Batterton; step-grandmother to Stefanie Jarvis and step-great-grandmother to Waverly Jarvis; sister of Rita Knight, Frances Fletcher, Joan (Tom) Mellnick. Josie was preceded in death by her siblings Charles Zammit, Ralph Zammit, Mary Olivarez, Theresa Myles and Connie Crissman.

Josie enjoyed raising their family, homemaking, cooking and baking, long car rides with Harvey and dining out, visiting with family, and playing BINGO.

Visitation will take place Friday, April 22, 2022 from 11am until time of funeral service at 3pm at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 45100 Warren Rd, Canton, Michigan 48187. A Dinner Reception at 5pm will follow (details to be provided). Josephine will be buried in a private ceremony next to her late husband Harvey, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association (see link below) would be appreciated.
